Amazon has introduced a special promotion offering international shipping at just $5 to six countries, including Ecuador. Here’s how you can take advantage of this offer through the app’s new ‘flat rate.’

The global e-commerce giant recently unveiled its ‘Flat Rate Shipping’ for international orders, with Ecuador being one of the selected countries. This promotion offers a fixed shipping cost of $5 per order, no matter the quantity or weight of the products. In some cases, even import taxes are waived.

Amazon’s campaign comes at a time when it faces growing competition from Chinese e-commerce platform Temu, which attracts buyers with extremely low prices and ships to Ecuador through local postal services.

The flat rate promotion is also available in Argentina, Aruba, the Bahamas, the Cayman Islands, and Trinidad and Tobago.

Which Products Qualify for the Flat Rate?

Not all Amazon products are eligible for flat rate shipping. Only “select products” in specific categories can be shipped with the $5 flat rate, including:

  • PC & Accessories
  • Apparel
  • Home
  • Books
  • Beauty
  • Toys
  • Personal Care
  • Shoes
  • Kitchen
  • Sports

When browsing Amazon from Ecuador, users will see a ‘Flat Rate Shipping’ banner with details about the promotion and which products qualify.

Once you add your desired items to the shopping cart, the discount will automatically apply in the order summary.

Amazon also clarifies that if standard shipping costs less than the flat rate, the lower price will be charged. In some cases, import taxes may not be applied, depending on the item’s price or weight. This information will appear beneath the product’s price

How to Place a Flat Rate Order

To make a purchase on Amazon using flat rate shipping, follow these simple steps:

  1. Add a delivery address in one of the eligible countries: Ecuador, Argentina, Aruba, the Bahamas, the Cayman Islands, or Trinidad and Tobago.
  2. Look for the ‘Flat Rate Shipping’ option on the product page or during checkout.
  3. Add products to your cart and proceed to checkout.
  4. If your order qualifies, the AmazonGlobal Flat Rate Shipping discount will automatically appear at checkout.

Shipping to Ecuador

Orders shipped with the flat rate will enter Ecuador via an international postal company and then be delivered to the customer through a local courier.

Sky Postal, the same company that handles shipments for Temu in Ecuador, will manage the international leg of delivery. The final handoff will be carried out by Tramacoexpress, a local courier service.

  1. Can delivery be made to small rural communities like Vilcabamba that have no home addresses?

  2. I also ask the same question…what about Vilcabamba delivery …how long is the delivery time from Amazon to Vilcabamba. Does Tramamaco come to Vilcabamba?
