The Ecuadorian airline Aeroregional was certified to operate domestic flights in Ecuador with routes between Quito-Cuenca-Guayaquil-Santa Rosa.
Journalist Nicolar Larenas, announced on his blog that the airline has permission to being commercial flights as of Monday, June 10, 2019.
Aeroregional is already the fourth national domestic airline to complete its certification process and obtain the AOC Operator certificate under part 121, which permits them now to start commercializing flights under a fixed itinerary in the approved routes that they have within their operating permit.
The routes that Aerorregional may cover are:
- Quito and/or Cuenca – Guayaquil and vice versa, with up to 6 weekly flights.
- Quito – Guayaquil – Cuenca and vice versa, with up to 4 weekly flights.
- Quito – Santa Rosa and vice versa with up to 2 weekly flights.
Beginning of operations
The airline announced that its tentative date for the start of regular operations will be July 1, 2019.
The airline currently has two Boeing 737-500 aircraft, both with capacity for 129 passengers in a single class.
